How ASIC sustainability reporting relates to Form 388

Source review: 2026-11-06. General procedural information, not legal or tax advice. Check the linked ASIC instructions before lodging; forms, fees and portal screens can change.

    Before you start

    • Assess whether the entity falls within the sustainability-reporting requirements and commencement cohort.
    • Obtain qualified reporting advice and prepare the required reports.

    How to complete the process

    • Review ASIC’s current financial-report and sustainability-report instructions.
    • Use Form 388 for the financial-report transaction where required.
    • Use Form 398 for the sustainability-report transaction where required.
    • If an annual report includes both sets of reports, follow ASIC’s instruction to attach and lodge it using both transactions.

    After lodgement or completion

    • Keep separate acceptance evidence for each applicable transaction.

    Important limits and exceptions

Applicability, commencement dates, assurance and deadlines depend on the reporting entity. This guide describes the transaction distinction and does not establish whether your company is in scope.

    Keeping the company record complete

Keep approvals, consents, submitted documents and lodgement receipts with the entity record. EntityFlo can help organise records and supported workflows; guidance about a form does not mean EntityFlo supports direct lodgement of that form. Website FloSec cannot sign, lodge or access your private company records.
