How to change a company address with ASIC

Source review: 2026-11-06. General procedural information, not legal or tax advice. Check the linked ASIC instructions before lodging; forms, fees and portal screens can change.

    Before you start

    • Identify which address is changing and the effective date.
    • For a registered office occupied by someone else, obtain the occupier’s written consent.
    • Check whether officer or member addresses also need separate updates.

    How to complete the process

    • Sign in to the company officeholder or registered-agent portal.
    • Open Change to company details (484) and select the relevant address-change section.
    • Enter the full address and change date; do not assume updating one address changes all other records.
    • Review, lodge within the applicable 28-day change period and save the confirmation.

    After lodgement or completion

    • Update the company records and check where ASIC will send correspondence.

    Important limits and exceptions

Business-name addresses use a separate ASIC Connect transaction. A registered office must meet ASIC’s requirements; it is not interchangeable with every correspondence address.

    Keeping the company record complete

Keep approvals, consents, submitted documents and lodgement receipts with the entity record. EntityFlo can help organise records and supported workflows; guidance about a form does not mean EntityFlo supports direct lodgement of that form. Website FloSec cannot sign, lodge or access your private company records.
