How to correct a processed ASIC lodgement with Form 492

Source review: 2026-11-06. General procedural information, not legal or tax advice. Check the linked ASIC instructions before lodging; forms, fees and portal screens can change.

    Before you start

    • Find the processed document number and identify exactly what was wrong.
    • Collect the correct details and supporting evidence.

    How to complete the process

    • Read the current Form 492 page and choose the permitted online or signed-PDF email channel.
    • Identify the original document and describe the correction with evidence.
    • For email, include 492 and the document number being corrected in the subject and use PDF attachments.
    • Keep the total email within ASIC’s stated 10 MB limit, submit and retain acknowledgment.

    After lodgement or completion

    • Check that ASIC has processed the correction and reconcile internal records.

    Important limits and exceptions

Form 492 does not replace the normal notification of a genuine subsequent change. There is no ordinary lodgement period or fee on its form page, but original transaction consequences may still need attention.

    Keeping the company record complete

Keep approvals, consents, submitted documents and lodgement receipts with the entity record. EntityFlo can help organise records and supported workflows; guidance about a form does not mean EntityFlo supports direct lodgement of that form. Website FloSec cannot sign, lodge or access your private company records.
